Tournaments

Tournaments will begin in November and run through mid-March, culminating in the MYAS State Tournament. A document of travel tournaments is below. Note that due to current conditions the schedule is SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Please note that admission to tournaments for non-players (gate fees) are typically $6-$8 and transportation costs are the parents' responsibility. They are NOT included in program fees.

If you have any questions about our scholarships or our refund policy please click onto our Resources tab under fees and policies for more details.

Program Commitment

The WBBA travel basketball program requires a full commitment from travel players and their parents. Parents should make every effort to ensure players attend every practice and game. However, the WBBA understands that occasional conflicts may arise for religious, educational or family matters. Travel teams typically practice twice a week and play a schedule of weekend tournaments, with approximately half the team’s games on Saturday and half on Sunday. Please carefully consider this commitment.

Additionally, each FAMILY is required to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours at our Travel Tournament (annual fundraiser) or pay a $150.00 buyout to the WBBA in February. If for any reason, your son cannot commit to the rigorous travel schedule and commitment as outlined above, PLEASE CONTACT THE TRAVELING DIRECTOR BEFORE THE TRYOUT PROCESS BEGINS.

Playing Time Policy

The WBBA has established the playing time policy for all travel program players to be an average minimum of 40% per game. The 40% playing time policy may vary depending on players’ understanding of the game, attentiveness during practice, attendance and disciplinary issues.

Team Pages

Team Pages are made available on the website.  Team schedules will be posted on each team’s page.  These pages may be updated regularly by a Team Parent or Coach.  Instructions are available on the website under the Info For Team Page Tab and further help is provided by emailing info@wayzatabasketball.org.

Rules for Travel Teams

Rules are set by each tournament host community, but otherwise follow Minnesota State High School Rules. The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) uses rule books published by the National Federation of State High School Associations. Visit www.nfhs.org for more information.
